The Bachelor Has a Change of Heart

The Bachelor finale took America on a wild ride of love, roses, diamonds and drama last night, and the emotional roller coaster ride still has us reeling.

Single dad and bachelor, Jason Mesnick, chose the perky, Melissa Rycroft, on the show's finale, but had a change of heart after six weeks of time away from the cameras. What happened? Apparently the chemistry wasn't there after the lights dimmed and the roses wilted. And there was the small matter of his strong feelings for woman he didn't choose, Molly Malaney.

Are you keeping up? We know. It's complicated.

One thing he did choose right was the stunner of a diamond engagement ring from designer to the stars, Neil Lane. The hand-crafted diamond and platinum ring has a total weight of 3.18 carats with a center marquise-cut diamond weighing in at 1.94 carats. The ring, designed by Lane himself, bears his signature script in the shank and is reportedly worth about $58,000.

But what will happen to the glorious bauble now that the engagement is off? A heartbroken Melissa gave the diamond back to Jason on the gut-wrenching After The Rose show (right after she got dumped in front of millions), but the ultimate fate of the ring has yet to be revealed.

Jason and the 'other woman' Molly are giving their unrequited love a shot, but if other Bachelor pairings are any indication, we won't be seeing that lovely Neil Lane bauble bouncing down the aisle anytime soon.
