Jewelry Hits and Misses at the CMT Awards

Blondes like Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler had more fun at the CMT Awards last night, but it was rapper T Pain who took the award for biggest bling.

Mr. Pain arrived on the red carpet in a huge diamond necklace that weighed as much as his newborn - 7.5 pounds! 197 carats and $410,000 later, he managed to upstage all the blonde beauties and his fellow rappers with a piece so huge no one to date has topped it. The necklace itself pretty much says it all.

"I just figured I had to shut down something, some part of the game," Pain said. "I thought I did it with Auto-Tune, and so I guess I gotta do it with jewelry ... just show 'em where the money's comin' from. You know what I'm sayin'?"

Yes. We most certainly do.

While the pricey bauble almost eclipsed the night's biggest star, Taylor Swift, the singer/songwriter certainly had one heck of an awards show.

Wearing a stunning Collette Dinnigan mini with diamond spray earrings, Swift (or T. Swizzle as T Pain now calls her) dazzled the crowd with several showstopping numbers and took home a few awards to boot for Best Video of the Year and Best Female Video.

And the ladies continued to rule the red carpet with Dancing With the Stars' Julianne Hough in Jenny Packham and yellow gold, fellow dancer Shawn Johnson showing off her flirty side in a floral gown and gold circle danglers and a (too) slim Kellie Pickler in Badgley Mischka and a stunning natural diamond cuff.

While Naomi Judd could have left the 'matchy matchy' gemstone jewelry at home, our biggest bauble disappointment was on Martina McBride, who is usually 40-something and fabulous but just isn't working it in this drab silver and grey look.
