From DNA to Diamonds

Receiving jewelry can often be an emotional experience - from diamond engagement rings to anniversary bands to a celebration of your own shining achievements. But a company named DNA2Diamonds is offering their customers an emotional connection to loved ones in an entirely different way.

Whether it's your beloved grandmother, your new set of twins or the cat you've had for 15 years, DNA2Diamonds can turn their DNA into a shining diamond you can wear forever. And fellas, take note. This could be a great way to add a little more incentive when popping the question.

The company uses the latest technology to extract the unique DNA carbon from a lock of hair or cremated ashes and turns it into a GIA-certified diamond within 70 days.

The gem is available in a variety of colors, including red, yellow, green or cognac and in any of these three popular diamond cuts: radiant, princess, and brilliant.

Prices range from $2,000 to as much as $18,000 and sizes start at 0.25 carats for those who want a little shimmer to 2 full carats for those who want a bigger statement.

While DNA2Diamonds might not be for everybody (can you imagine the thought of accidentally losing a loved one down the drain?), the service is a meaningful alternative to the more traditional urn in the case of those who are no longer with us, and - perhaps most importantly - ensures the memories of our loved ones will quite literally always be close to our hearts.
