Launching
a jewelry line seems to be the 'thing to do' for celebs who want to create a
brand - from
Nicole
Richie to
Tori
Spelling and then some. But Alicia Keys is bringing a different angle to the
trend. Her new collection, named The Barber's Daughters, will consist
of handmade pieces each engraved with a message of hope.
"The words, when you read them, they really do resonate with you. They kind of inspire you to want to find that place in yourself," Keys said in an interview yesterday.
The Barber's Daughters will be produced under Keys' new company, AK Worldwide, which will handle all of the singer's side projects. No word yet on price points or venues, but Jewelry.com will be sure to keep you posted.
In the meantime, her new album - The Element of Freedom - launches on World AIDS Day (December 1st).
