People's Choice Awards Jewelry Style

Check out the diamond divas, golden girls and the first close-up of Carrie Underwood's stunning yellow diamond engagement ring at the 2010 People's Choice Awards.

The 2010 People's Choice Awards traditionally kick off what we jewelry lovers wait for every year - Awards Season. And while the A-list in film and television made a glamorous showing last night, it's clear they are holding back the 'big guns' for the more prestigious awards later in the month.

Most of the leading ladies opted for classic diamond glamour, with the always-stunning Taylor Swift in Neil Lane snowflake earrings, winner Sandra Bullock in Amrapali rose-cut diamond studs, Mariah Carey dripping in Neil Lane, and Carrie Underwood in simple diamond dangles by Jonathan Arndt.

A surprising flash of yellow gold jewelry made a strong showing on Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, Jenna Elfman, and Modern Family star, Sophia Vergara.

And bold statement pieces were a no-show - with three exceptions: a Carrera y Carrera diamond bib necklace worn by Disney star, Demi Lovato; Tarji P. Henson's jaw-dropping colorful cocktail ring; and the five-carat yellow diamond engagement ring we've all been waiting to see on Carrie Underwood. Wow.
