The
country's top jewelry and fashion designers were honored last night at the
star-studded
Council of Fashion
Designers of America Fashion Awards in the Big Apple.
The A-list invite list included every top designer, model, and fashion muse worth their salt in addition to big stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, who honored the late Alexander McQueen, and Gwenyth Paltrow, who accompanied Lifetime Achievement Award-winner, Michael Kors.
New York jewelry designer, Alexis Bittar, received the Accessories Designer of The Year Award, a favorite among the Hollywood set - including Joan Collins, who partnered with him on his recent line.
Bittar is well-known for his bold costume pieces, creating runway looks for designers like Michael Kors and Burberry. And while much of his work carries couture price tags, Jewelry.com partner, Nordstrom, offers pieces from his 'alexis bittar nyc' line that are both affordable and fashion-friendly.
The night's other big winners included Marc Jacobs for Womenswear and Marcus Wainwright and David Neville (Rag & Bone) for Menswear. The Swarovski Award, which honors emerging talent, went to Jason Wu for Womenswear, Richard Chai for Menswear and Alexander Wang for accessory design.
