Chelsea Clinton's Wedding Details

July 21, 2010

What does Chelsea's engagement ring look like? Who designed her wedding dress? What stars are on the guest list? Jewelry.com tells you all we know about the biggest wedding of the year!

It's the most anticipated wedding of the year - Chelsea Clinton is getting married on July 31st to investment banker and childhood friend, Marc Mezvinsky. And while the wedding details of Bill and Hillary's one and only are Washington's best kept secret, some exciting tidbits are beginning to leak. Here's what we know so far:

Chelsea Clinton's Engagement Ring:

When the first photos of Chelsea Clinton's diamond engagement ring made the rounds, our blogger, Jewelry Insider, didn't waste a second posting them for our readers. But it seems the exact cut and carat count are as hard to get as an invite to the wedding.

The center stone appears to be an emerald-cut diamond set in white gold or platinum weighing approximately 4-5 carats. Prices for an engagement ring that size can run anywhere from $40,000 - $100,000 depending on the designer. Would we want anything less for our Chelsea?

Location, location, location:

Hudson Valley News got the scoop of the week when they revealed Chelsea Clinton's wedding location to be the tony Astor Courts in Rhinebeck, New York. Gifts have already been arriving and the security detail is busy trying to protect the many entrances to the property, according to Radaronline.

The Dress:

While no one has confirmed the designer of Chelsea Clinton's wedding dress, the buzz according to New York Magazine is that it's all about Oscar de la Renta. Known for his to-die-for red carpet gowns, the decadent de la Renta is sure to create a show-stopper for America's favorite first daughter.

The Guest List:

According to Hudson Valley News, Clinton's guest list is a 500-person who's who of politics and entertainment. Some of the high-powered names include President Barack Obama, Barbara Streisand, Steven Speilberg, Ted Turner and Oprah Winfrey. But even with the most famous faces in the world on her roster, Chelsea insisted on a 'no stranger' policy - every guest must be known by her personally. That's quite a rolodex.

Stay tuned for more coverage of Chelsea Clinton's wedding on the Jewelry.com news pages and on the Jewelry Insider. In the meantime, we wonder what Bristol Palin has up her sleeve for her surprise wedding? Word on the street is: Levi's wearing camouflage!
