Fashion's Night Out

New York Fashion Week kicks off with a fashionista's dream of designer discounts and special events throughout the Big Apple. Stars, supermodels and sales - oh my!

Jewelry lovers and fashion followers are looking to the Big Apple this week as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week brings 2011 Spring Ready-To-Wear looks to the runway. But before the fashion starts flowing, Vogue and the CFDA are celebrating the 2^nd annual Fashion's Night Out extravaganza tonight - an event aimed at generating interest (and sales) during a tough economic climate for sartorial spending.

How do they draw in the crowds? Last year, stars like Kate Hudson and Charlize Theron made special store appearances throughout the city, and this year it's all about celebs from the music scene.

Joss Stone and Train are scheduled to perform at Macy's Herald Square, where Sean 'Diddy' Combs will also make an appearance. Stone will also stop in at Nine West on Fifth Avenue, while Mary J. Blige will play Bergdorf-Goodman, Pharrell Williams will appear at Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream, Taboo of the Black eyed Peas will play Saks Fifth Avenue, Bryan Adams will perform at the Calvin Klein Collection store, and Gwen Stefani will make an appearance at Sephora's Broadway store to sign her new Wicked Style fragrance.

Other cities across the country will hold their own Fashion's Night Out events, and CBS will air a special on Sept. 14 documenting the celebration, with an appearance by Justin Timberlake.
