Jewelry Trend Alert 2011: Think Pink

From the Golden Globe red carpet to the Paris couture runways, everything's coming up pink for 2011. Even Oprah is getting in on the act! The third installment of our Jewelry Trends for 2011 series examines the hue that's got everyone 'blushing' this year.

Every season, color authority Pantone makes their all-important selection of the hue that's going to make the biggest splash in the fashion world. This year? They're hot for honeysuckle (or pink for us regular folk). And we've already seen the rosy results.

Golden Globe red carpet beauties from Lea Michele to Natalie Portman all got pretty in pink for their big day.

And our editors scouting the Paris Haute Couture shows spotted the shade in Dior's dazzling collection, among many others.

But pink isn't just for fashion fabrics this year. It's also trickling down to the choices for our jewelry boxes.

Oprah Winfrey made a big splash down under, when she gifted her entire Australian audience with a pink diamond circle pendant from Rio Tinto's famous Argyle mine (see the Jewelry Insider for more). And rose gold is making metal news as a trend-to-watch at the Vicenza jewelry show in Italy this month, according to JCK Magazine.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, pink jewelry is the perfect present for the person you love - or how about just for you this year? Love is in the air!
