Jewelry Buzz From New York Fashion Week

See all the sparkle from the most important fashion gathering of the season - and get hip to some surprising new jewelry trends for Fall 2011.

Jewelry trends careened from the catwalks of New York Fashion Week, and Jewelry.com has all the sparkling scoop for your next shopping spree.

Everything from sheer fabrics, lace, and fur to polka dots, pinks and prairie-wear emerged as the hot fashion statements for fall - and the jewelry styles were just as eclectic.

Designers like Nicole Miller and Anna Sui shocked with statement rings in bold colors and bug shapes, and color in general is apparently king again, style expert Michael O'Connor explained to National Jeweler,

"We're going to start to see, in jewelry, a lot of designers who are veering towards blues, greens, oranges, reds and purple colors."

So what does this mean for your jewelry box? Our guess is the collar craze won't last long enough to justify the expense, so if you want to keep up with the trends, invest in a pearl strand (they never really go out of style) and a statement ring - both with fashion-friendly price points. And anything in blue will keep your color cues fresh through the end of the year.
