Diane von Furstenberg Goes for the Gold

March 22, 2011

Yellow gold jewelry is hot for spring/summer shine this year, and the fashion master is getting in on the act with new Indian-inspired gems for H. Stern.

Seven years after the debut of her jewelry collaboration with H. Stern, Diane von Furstenberg has added eight new gem-inlaid yellow gold pieces to the Sutras collection, according to the New York Times.

Rock crystals and diamonds are organically incorporated into the designs, using techniques employed by the Mughal Empire of Jaipur, India.

"Gold embraces a gemstone and assumes its form," says von Furstenberg of eye-catching pieces like the undulating teardrop crystal rings.

"The movement within the gold alludes to sensuality and natural feminine forms."

Inspirational inscriptions, like love, laughter, harmony and freedom, are engraved on the back of each peice, with prices ranging from $3,200 to $8,200.

Yellow gold jewelry may be 'in' this season, but it never really goes out of style. From gold hoops to blingy bangles, let the sunshine in to your jewelry box with yellow gold essentials from Jewelry.com.
