Despite 'runaway bride' rumors, former Olympic swimmer
Charlene Wittstock showed up for her royal wedding to Prince Albert of Monaco
looking beautiful in a traditional wedding gown by Armani Prive and down-low
diamond style that had some royal watchers clucking.
Why?
Because the princess-to-be chose not to wear a diamond tiara down the aisle - a tradition that most royal brides rarely overlook, including the usually understated Kate Middleton, who dazzled in the Queen of England's Halo tiara by Cartier for her big day.
But that doesn't mean diamonds were a no-show. Wittstock
chose a carat-heavy creation called the 'Diamond Spray' tiara designed by Lorenz
Baumer, with 11 encrusted pear-shaped diamonds set in a floral design, according to Usmagazine.com.
The couple also exchanged 18-karat white
gold wedding
bands from Cartier in front of the usual royal suspects along with French
President Nicolas Sarkozy, James Bond star Roger Moore, former supermodel Naomi
Campbell, and veteran fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
