Elizabeth Taylor's Jewelry Lives On

Elizabeth Taylor's $30 million jewelry collection will go on the auction block in December. Find out which of her gorgeous gems are up for grabs!

While the passing of Elizabeth Taylor still hits home for movie buffs and jewelry lovers alike, all can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that her shimmering legacy of fashion and jewels will live on for years to come.

Named "The Crown Jewels of Hollywood" by Rahul Kadakia of Christie's New York, the gowns, jackets, handbags, luggage and of course shimmering jewelry will be auctioned off this December.

Her one-of-a-kind frocks include couture gowns by Dior and Valentino, a daisy hot pants ensemble (worn to celebrate being a grandmother at the age of 39), wedding dresses (as she was wed eight times to seven men in her lifetime), breath-taking caftans, a velvet cloak embroidered with scorpions to celebrate Grace Kelly's 40^th Birthday, and 28 barely-touched Versace pieces.

Along with the lavish gowns is a collection of accessories that are, in many ways, personalized by Liz Taylor herself, including a Louis Vuitton luggage set that followed Taylor around the world with her blue travel tags labeled "Mine" still attached.

And then there's the jewelry.

Some of her breathtaking pieces that are up for grabs are the Peregrina pearl, a pear-shaped jewel that was part of the Spanish royal family, a shimmering 33.19-carat diamond ring, known as the Krupp, a gold, diamond and emerald snake bracelet watch by Bulgari, a gold necklace draped with ivory opera passes, an emerald and diamond necklace by Bulgari, blue and purple sapphire and diamond earrings by JAR, wedding bands from both of her marriages to Burton, and a diamond tiara given to Taylor by then husband Mike Todd, among many others.

Much of Taylor's costume jewelry will be featured in an online auction, while the infamous pieces from the collection will be sold live through Christie's December 13 through 16 in New York. Some of the proceeds will benefit The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Mark your calendars!
