Color color and more color triumph on the Milanese and Parisian catwalks in clothes and jewels.

Splashy colors, rainbow appeal, multicolor trend these seem to be the buzz words for the spring/summer 2005 ready to wear. The desire for color in clothes and accessories was evident on the Milanese and Parisian catwalks, while next year's must-have items are unanimously confirmed:

micro-miniskirts, heels (high or wedge), flat decorated sandals, blouson tops, lots of color, lavishness and JEWELS. The Galliano Fashionista is a never-ending source of amazement and for next season she's dressed a la Priscilla Queen Of The Desert: 20-centimeter-high

platform shoes, overly long false eyelashes, multicolored inflated wigs, taffeta micro skirts and leggings. To complete the look, she wears overstated and aggressive make-up. Versace's Retronista is less excessive but, as always, feminine and determined. Instead of platform soles and balloon hair she goes for stiletto heels and miniscule skirts with multicolored stripes enough to put anyone's sight at risk. And also mini, red-leather suits, micro kilts and baby-dolls in vivid colors such as fuchsia and gold, fluorescent yellow and green. For added color she wears semi-precious and precious stones around her neck and wrists that would put an Impressionist's palette to shame.

Colors galore in jewelry as well: polychrome cabochon stones for rings, bracelets, brooches and necklaces. This precious rainbow reminds one of a florist's bouquet. Infinite possibilities to mix and match and layer with lots and lots of colorful semi-precious stones. You can play with color filled Opals, vibrant blue Tanzanites and Blue Topaz, sparkling Amethysts and Garnets and lovely evening emeralds also called Peridots.
