In 1906, Alfred Van Cleef joined forces with his brothers-in-law, Charles and Julien Arpels, to establish Van Cleef & Arpels at 22 Place Vendome in Paris, which has been the company's home for over a century. In 1942, the founders opened their boutique in New York on 57th Street and Fifth Avenue, the first of six stores in the U.S. With more than 45 boutiques all over the world selling works of art created from precious gems and diamonds, a Van Cleef & Arpels jewel is more than adornment.
