Big, bold statement earrings are among the usual suspects that grace the red carpet during awards season and last night may have brought out the most impressive selection of Hollywood's finest stretching their earlobes in style. So far, color has made a great showing on the red carpet and last night, green was the way to go. Jennifer Garner in David Webb, Nicole Kidman, Morena Baccarin in Jacob and Co. all wore gorgeous green earrings while Lea Michele, Freida Pinto, Kuleikha Robinson, Volia Davis, Jessica Pare, Sigourney Weaver, Carmen Electra and Jenna Elfman opted for other chromatic sparklers.
Diamond Statement earrings continue to be the go-to accessory with such stars as Sofia Vergara in Neil Lane, Sarah Hyland in Lorraine Schwartz, Nina Dobrev and Maria Menounos, but certainly did not make the showing they've had at past red carpets.
Dainty diamond bracelets went practically unnoticed compared to the colorful, stackable, and down-right fabulous array of wrist wear at last night's red carpet. Edie Falco wore a pair of silver Wonder Woman cuffs, while Jane Krakowski matched her orange sherbet Kaufman Franco gown with orange David Webb jewels and Sarah Hyland did the same with a pink bracelet by Lorraine Schwartz. Anne Hathaway in Kwiat and Sigourney Weaver both opted for multi-color gemstone bracelets to pop against their black gowns. Jennifer Garner and Jane Lynch glittered with gold bracelets while Helen Hunt stacked her wrist with an assortment of Neil Lane bangles.
Thanks to last year's debut of E!'s Mani-Cam, the pressure is on for stars to get a memorable manicure and slip on a cocktail ring and last night did not disappoint. Busy Phillip wore a turquoise Irene Neuwirth ring, while Claire Danes went for an edgy black Neil Lane ring. Other cocktail ring standouts include Naomi Watts, Kerry Washington, Ellie Kemper, Jaimie Alexander, Kuleikha Robinson Helen Hunt and Jessica Pare.
We almost fell out of our seats when we actually saw diamonds 'round the necks of some of Hollywood's finest at the Golden Globes two weeks ago and it looks like (we hope) that diamond neckwear is here to stay this awards season. Jessica Chastain decked a red Alexander Mc Queen gown with a stunning Harry Winston sparkler. Big winner of the night, Jennifer Lawrence donned a classic diamond necklace by Chopard. Other stars who wowed us with diamond necklaces were Marion Cotillard, Helen Hunt and Gretchen Mol.
Since we were so pleased with the jewelry turnout at this year's SAG Awards, we've decided to not even call out snore-fest, humdrum dainty diamonds that find their way onto the red carpet, despite the begging and pleading by us jewelry hound, but we couldn't resist. Anne Hathaway is making us 'Les Miserable' with her lack of jewelry so far this awards season. Anne, this is your year to shine and you can't shine without sparkling! You have been warned.
